AVA MARI F. RAMEL

Overview

Ava earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Ateneo de Manila School of Law in 2010 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar the following year. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines College of Social Sciences and Philosophy in 2006.

Prior to joining LGTON Law, Ava was a partner in Lim Leynes Lozada-Marquez where she started her legal career as an associate in 2011.

Ava serves as transactional counsel for clients in automotive sales, goods distribution, and mass media. She also handles corporate concerns, litigation, and special projects of clients in the telecommunications industries, including applications for congressional franchise. She is a litigation counsel appearing before administrative and judicial tribunals and she received training as a commercial arbitrator with the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center.

What made you decide to be a lawyer?
It was my childhood dream.
If you were not a lawyer what would you be?
I would be a Political Scientist probably working for a women’s rights or human rights organization.
What motivates you to be a better lawyer?
My family.

At home with my family.

My daughter.

Travelling.
The best advice you got:
There are no shortcuts to success.
What is the one positive thing you learned because of the pandemic?
More of a confirmation that, indeed, family comes first.
