Overview

Dado obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines in 1997 where he graduated cum laude with a degree in Political Science. He was admitted  to the Integrated Bar of the Philipines in 1998 and soon after joined SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. Before joining LGTON Law, he was a name partner in Batuhan Blando Concepcion & Trillana.

Dado has a proven track record in  counselling corporate clients in the mining, cement, energy, construction and local and international banking industries. He has assisted them in corporate concerns, litigation, project financing and intellectual property matters.

Dado is also a Corporate Secretary in various private corporations and is an accredited commercial arbitrator with the Philippine Dispute Resolution Center. Along with two other partners, Norman T. Golez and  Jayjay C. Onrubia-Puno, he sits on the Board of Trustees of BrightHalls Children’s Foundation Inc., a foundation for abandoned children.

Q&A

What made you decide to be a lawyer?
My father wanted me to become a lawyer. He wanted to be a lawyer himself, but he could not finish college because he had to work to take care of his family. Also, law school was far more affordable for someone poor like me.
What motivates you to be a better lawyer?
Seeing that there are people who do not know about their legal rights and are in dire need of good legal representation.
What is the most embarrassing that happened to you?
Not scoring a point in a basketball game.
My mom thinks that I am:
A Papa’s boy.
The best advice I got:
Remember that I am going to die someday.
Three things in your bucket list:
Run all six major marathons. Watch a live San Antonio Spurs game; Watch all my kids graduate.
What is the one positive thing you learned because of the pandemic?
We do not need a lot of things.
